Churro (or Churra) sheep have long been an integral part of Navajo culture. The wool Churro sheep produce is exceptionally durable and lends itself well to rug making. Churro wool tassels can be worn around ones neck, added to a bag or purse or even just used as a decorative item around the house.

Traditionally, natural dyes have been used by the Dine’ to achieve various colors in their yarns. The yellow wool used in this tassel is dyed with Rabbit Brush. The orange is dyed with Madder Root.
