The Queen of the Rodeo pendant features a large piece of Cloud Mountain turquoise and a squash blossom dangle. Flared, petal-like silver beads are referred to as squash blossoms in Native jewelry tradition. Despite the popular name, historical research shows these beads were actually adapted from the Spanish pomegranate design (a symbol of Granada) rather than a literal squash flower.
